New S. Side park relieves a racket
Tucson Citizen – Jan 27, 2007
San Antonio Park, a slightly less-than-one-acre patch of quiet at Santa Rita Avenue and 14th Street, is to be dedicated today. A children’s play area, walking path, stage area, ramada, benches, desert landscaping and trees now occupy the former site of the warehouse of Interspace Moving and Storage. "There was a civil war there for years," City Councilman Steve Leal recalled about constant skirmishing between residents of the South Side neighborhood and the moving and storage company, known as Red Ball to homeowners. Big rigs moving through neighborhood streets were a noise and safety concern to residents. Several years ago, the City Council, along with the Tucson Department of Transportation and a citizens advisory committee, came up with a plan to buy the property for a city park. The department used drainage bond funds in 2002 to acquire the site, which geographically fits into the much larger and ongoing Arroyo Chico-Park Avenue drainage project. Barrio San Antonio residents provided their input on what the park should be – a small neighborhood park with amenities for both young and not-so-young.

Service solves cramped closet dilemma

The price for the service starts at $59. 99 per month and includes two pick-ups or returns. Now, because many condo owners are moving from larger homes or have parents who are scaling back, there are furniture storage solutions which also offer the same door-to-door, service. You don’t have to sell your grandmother’s antique dining room set just because your style is all leather and chrome. Toronto Storage Stadium (www. com) also comes right to your door and handles the packing and care of stuff you otherwise might have to permanently unload.
