The study finds that while 77 percent of local move customers report receiving their belongings on-time and without damage, this figure decreases to only 55 percent among long-distance move customers. In addition, claim settlement does little to improve satisfaction levels among customers whose possessions are lost or damaged. When customers report that a moving company provides reimbursement that is equal to or greater than the perceived value of damaged or lost.

Then he allegedly told the SEC that all of the records were gone: either destroyed in a fire, lost on a moving truck or mistakenly sold by a storage company. Jones told regulators that Amaroq closed shop in 2004. But, until recently, the money-management firm had a Web site that advertised its wealth management programs and periodic SEC examinations, which are required under federal securities laws. Yesterday's SEC proceeding isn't Jones' first run-in with authorities. The former professional football player, who had stints with the Los Angeles Raiders, the Houston Oilers and the Green Bay Packers from 1984 to 1996, was arrested in Houston in June for bank fraud in a real-estate scam involving inflated mortgage loans.
