“He has experience across a broad range of disciplines and is exactly what the company needs to continue on its current path of success. ” Warhurst will continue to serve PODS as a member of the board of directors. About PODS In 1998, PODS revolutionized the moving and storage industry by originating the concept of transporting mobile storage containers. The convenient, cost-effective service is unique in that the patented hydraulic lift system (only available with PODS) is designed to significantly reduce shift in contents while the PODS brand container is being loaded onto the truck for transport. The container is then securely transported locally, state to state or internationally. Currently, the PODS network provides service to a population of over 230 million consumers and businesses in the US, Canada and Australia. To date, approximately one million reservations have been completed and there are over 130,000 PODS brand containers in service.

Three arrested in warehouse heist KENT – Three Lake Carmel residents have been arrested following an investigation into the theft and sale of high definition flat-screen televisions from a local business. In early March, a Putnam County Sheriff’s Office undercover narcotics investigator developed information that an employee of a Putnam County moving and storage company stole two 32-inch “LG” color TVs valued at about $1,000 each, from his place of employment. The TVs were kept at a facility awaiting delivery to a hotel that was under construction. Investigators learned that Allan Hopper, 23, of Lake Carmel, allegedly stole the TVs and sold them to acquaintances for below market value. They were tracked to two homes in the Town of Kent where they were found when investigators, armed with search warrants, gained entry to the residences. Four Kent residents were arrested.

Second-Guessing Yahoo
InformationWeek – Apr 7, 2008
Culturally, these companies aren’t as far apart as they might appear. Working backward from the Seattle versus Silicon Valley stereotypes, Microsoft is the mainstream purveyor of average products; Yahoo is the leader of New Media with multiple portals and downloading and hosting galore. In reality, they both have armies of developers, big data centers and massive storage requirements, and free Web mail services that keep customers (and advertisers) coming back. Ironically, all the things they have in common also comprise a good reason to keep the two companies apart. Does a merger make sense as a check against Google? It does if you think Web mail is the battleground. But what Microsoft is trying to do is somehow blunt the search engine’s agility and innovation, especially where new applications and Google’s wireless aspirations are concerned. Does a merger make sense as a check against Google? It does if you think Web mail is the battleground. But what Microsoft is trying to do is somehow blunt the search engine’s agility and innovation, especially where new applications and Google’s wireless aspirations are concerned. Yahoo’s a wonderful company, but it’s no Google killer. And Microsoft has a mixed record with regard to its ability to derive real synergies from the companies it acquires. Maybe the real reason for Yahoo’s coyness lies well beyond California’s borders. But Arnold, Britney, and I have been sworn to secrecy. We’ll see how or if Microsoft counters this latest rejection, and if a few more billion can make any real difference.
