Tax-evasion indictments issued

attorney for Colorado, announced two federal grand- jury indictments in tax-evasion cases Wednesday. Michael Ewing, 55, of Aurora is accused of tax evasion and mail fraud. His indictment alleges he obtained more than $25,000 a year between 2000 and 2005 using falsified expense reports and check requests with Graebel, a moving and storage company. He allegedly failed to report the fraudulently obtained money as income. “There are severe criminal penalties for people who fraudulently obtain money and then attempt to evade their income taxes,” Eid said. Former Colorado Springs resident John Minemyer, 49, also is accused of tax evasion. His indictment alleges he did not report income from his 50 percent partnership interest in Lozon, a manufacturer of coupler devices for fiber-optic pipes.
