8% The demand for all types of commercial space is slipping. In time tenants will take advantage of that by striking favorable deals. But for now many companies can’t even think about the expense of moving. Some are trying to get rid of the space they have be it offices warehouses or store locations. In Texas the countryside is lined with hundreds of wind power generators and thousands more are planned. < n the bleak side our crude oil producers are now backing off in their drilling programs because the supporting service companies have yet to cut prices when a barrel of oil has been reduced from $147 per barrel to less than $50 per barrel. ur active drilling rig count has therefore gone down because service company prices have not followed the downward market price trend of crude oil. < President-elect bama is not known to support the energy producing industry. Still with these several positives and a few negatives I believe the price of gasoline will continue to fall unless we have another major interruption in crude oil supply or the nation’s environmentalist movement basically shuts down the crude oil-producing industry. r if we get into a major war effort that involves the Middle East and we have a return to fuel rationing like we had during World War II. While many experts believe we will never be self-sufficient in producing energy to meet our demand I believe our history of innovation and can-do spirit will succeed and that we can and will become energy self-sufficient.
